A B2B branding agency for mid-market B2B service firms
B2B buyers pick from the names they already trust. We make sure yours is one of them.
The shortlist problem
Brand only works when it's commercially aware. This means understanding the B2B buying process and how brand fits into the decision space around it. Most buyers won't find you at the moment they actually need you. Instead, they'll choose from the handful of names they already trust. These are the ones that come to mind before the shortlisting is even started. If your firm isn't on that list inside their heads, then you’re unlikely to have any chance at winning the work, let alone getting inside the decision space.
That's the job of brand. And we don’t mean a logo, or a 60-page guidelines document that ended up on a cloud drive in some folder you can’t recall. The brand that drives revenue is the brand that is remembered, trusted and chosen when the buying moment finally arrives.
We're a B2B branding agency for mid-market service firms, and that is the thing we build.
We work with mid-market B2B service businesses, roughly £10m to £100m in revenue. Our ideal client is the kind of business with a real reputation inside the room but not enough of it is clearly visible from the outside.
You might recognise the picture. A small marketing team (three if you’re lucky, sometimes one), a leadership team that sees brand as an expense and wants to know exactly what it gives back before committing a single penny. And then there’s your competitors, who look, sound and promise more or less exactly what you do. And they do a pretty good job of the work, too. A tough landscape to build a unique selling point in.
But this is the landscape where we work, and where we’re most familiar.
Logo, launch, silence
There’s a pattern we see over and over again. It goes a little like this: a firm invests in brand, gets a nice new identity and a set of guidelines, launches it (sometimes to great flourish), and then…nothing. At this moment, the work of building an authority brand that wins positions on shortlists (and thus creates revenue opportunities) simply stops.
An updated colour palette isn’t enough to earn you a place on a shortlist. Showing up, consistently, with something worth remembering does that job, but most brand projects don’t ever reach that part, which is exactly why most of them fail to live up to commercial hopes.
Brand should not be seen as a decorative output. It's fundamentally a commercial system for earning shortlist positions and holding onto them. Treat it that way and it will start to pull its weight.
The diagnosis is directional. It points to the work that needs to be done. Sometimes that's sharpening what you already have. Sometimes it's a full rebuild. We deliver it through four programmes:
→ Refine. Targeted fixes to the specific parts of the brand holding you back.
→ Refresh. A full foundation refresh, same name, sharper everything else.
→ Rebrand. The complete rebuild, new name and identity included.
→ Evolve. Technical-led work where the website or platform is the main event. This is where our engineering muscle shows, and where most brand agencies quietly tap out.
Plenty of agencies hand you a strategy and a logo and wish you luck with the build. We do the strategy, the creative and the technical execution under one roof, which matters more than it sounds when your website is doing half your selling for you.
In practice
Ambitious B2B service businesses that decided being good wasn't the same as being remembered.
We'll always walk you through this properly on the first call, but here's the honest take upfront, because you're going to ask and you deserve a straight answer.
Brand engagements typically run between £5-35K depending on the level of complexity and depth required. Sometimes you don’t need us to rework your entire messaging structure. Sometimes your logo is fine as it is. For development work, such as websites, build costs come in between £10-30K depending on complexity. Ongoing and retainer work is £900 per day.
Timelines run roughly 3-6 months for a foundation rebuild, depending on scope. Much faster than that and something's being skipped. If the scope is larger, it will take longer. Refinement programmes are naturally shorter, as are specific engagements such as messaging work. You might need us to conduct user or customer research, and this can add to the duration too.
Either way, we can give you an indicative time and cost estimate early on in discussion. We don’t want to waste your time, or ours - so we’ll always be honest and transparent where we can.
